Murray announces split from coach Mauresmo
Then what was the key factor behind Murray’s decision to quit the former Grand Slam champion?

The relationship produced seven ATP titles and a pair of Australian Open finals. Here, we take a look at five contenders to be Murray’s next full-time coach. She took some time off last summer whilst pregnant with her son, with Swede Jonas Bjorkman filling in in her absence. He won his first clay-court titles previous year in Munich and Madrid.
With the French Open starting in 12 days, Murray doesn’t have an immediate replacement. That’s when I was performing at my best.
While Delgado is a trusted and respected confidant, it is known Murray is keen to replace Mauresmo.
Murray asked on the issue, admitted their chemistry had worked properly.
Murray and Mauresmo had agreed on a working schedule at the end of past year, when she returned to work following the birth of her son, Aaron, in August.
And she was in Madrid last week in her role as Fed Cup captain last week without working with the Scot.
Their partnership was also temporarily broken when the former women’s world No.1 took a break from coaching Murray after Wimbledon past year to give birth to her first child; Jonas Bjorkman, then an assistant on the world No.3’s coaching team, took the reigns.
Speaking about the relationship yesterday, Murray said: “Ivan wasn’t so much technical. It just made more sense to stop now”. Berdych has yet to go beyond the semi-finals of any event this year. “Post-Wimbledon and post the US Open there was going to be periods where we were spending significant time apart”.
There is no denying Murrays season will be tougher without Mauresmo. “So in my opinion it’s nothing to do with Amélie being a woman”, Murray said.
“She’s been a calming influence in the team and we’ll miss having her around”.
Halep has turned her season prospects around after a poor start to 2016. “I will take some time to consider the next steps and how we progress from here”.
“I think it did work: for two years I think the results that we had were good”. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the great team of people he has around him”. How many team talks do you want from the same guy before you stop listening to him?
And the British world number three thinks the fact the duo have now split up should not be seen as evidence that it is hard for a woman to coach one of the top players.
“I had an incredible opening four months of the season”.
After Wimbledon the schedule remains just as busy.
After a first-round bye, Murray’s opening match at the Foro Italico will be against Kazakh qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin on Wednesday. Matt Little, Murray’s fitness trainer, and Shane Annun, one of his physios, are also here.
He added: “I do think it’s important to have someone in your team who is willing to commit for that amount of time”.
“Yes, I would be interested in coaching again, but right now I have got a lot on my plate- BT Sport, BBC, Tennis Channel and I do speaking engagements around the world”.
For Djokovic, the final frontier has to be the French Open, where he has been runner-up thrice, twice to nine-time champion Nadal and once to Stan Wawrinka.
In the second, however, the Scot’s serve began to click into gear and, having won just 17 percent of points on his second serve in the first set, he increased it to an impressive 60 percent in the second. County every minute and get ready for the action. They are mates, and I can see that working longer term. “I made it to the semifinals”.

Indeed, Djokovic has certainly had the better of Murray in recent years; before Murray appointed Mauresmo, the Serbian only boasted an 11-8 lead over him in their head-to-head record, and it now stands at 23-9.
