Police search for motive in Massachusetts stabbing rampage
After the house incident, the assailant took a vehicle and crashed it into the front door of a Macy’s department store at the nearby Silver City Galleria Mall. Two of the four stabbing victims have died.

DaRosa tried to carjack multiple people driving or stopped nearby but finally got back into the Honda, drove to the Silver City Galleria Mall a few miles away and crashed into the front entrance of Macy’s.
Rosemary Heath said Plymouth County Deputy Sheriff James Creed, who was off-duty and at Bertucci’s eating dinner, repeatedly ordered DaRosa to drop the knife.
Three others were injured in the stabbing attack at the mall and were identified by the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
“It’s a disgrace how someone goes in for help and wants help and no one does nothing”, DaRosa’s aunt, Liz DaRosa, told reporters. He did not release the details of those statements, but said they were “something that, from her perspective, caused concern”.
The incident started after a man, who has been identified as Arthur Darosa, 28, of Taunton, was involved in a crash on Myricks Street. The other woman was being treated for life-threatening injuries.
A pregnant woman left the same restaurant indicating that she had been wounded, police sources say, but no further details about her condition have been confirmed.
He then stabbed a witness, George Heath, 56, in the head, authorities said.
DaRosa checked himself into a hospital on Monday evening and was released early the next morning, Quinn said.
The victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The officer then shot him, she said. Quinn said there is no evidence to suggest that Darosa’s previous record had anything to do with what happened in Taunton on Tuesday.
Arthur DaRosa was shot and killed by an off-duty sheriff’s deputy after fatally stabbing one person at the Silver City Galleria mall in Taunton on Tuesday, shortly after he stabbed an 80-year-old woman in her home. Concerned family members called an ambulance Monday morning, and medics took the father of two to the hospital, where he was put in psychiatrists’ care, according to Devries.
