While Rubio said on CNN Tuesday that he’s not interested and that no discussions about the Trump ticket have reached him, a Trump campaign source said a longtime Rubio adviser discussed the idea of a Rubio running mate with party members at the Republican National Committee spring meeting in Hollywood, Florida, last month, pitching it as a possible way to attract Hispanic voters to Trump’s campaign.

By contrast, a lot of what Trump says he’d do as president – all right, most of it – he can’t do. “So I think in the end they will find common ground”. Sen. Roy Blunt will be among Republican congressional leaders meeting with presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump on Thursday, and in that meeting Blunt plans to caution Trump on the campaign language he uses, a Blunt aide said Wednesday.
Some Republicans have also been rankled by some of Trump’s policy proposals, including his declaration that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is obsolete and his call to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the country.
