Roberto Martinez: Everton’s coach understands “scrutiny”, asks fans for unity
Everton manager Roberto Martinez insists that the board should be discussing his future at the club after a poor season in the Premier League.

“From our perspective, I can assure you we are training the players as hard as ever”, Howe said.
Everton beat AFC Bournemouth 2-1 at Goodison Park to give embattled manager Roberto Martinez some relief.
“We have a very special football club so that comes when you don’t win enough games and at home, we have not won enough and we have to face it”.
Roberto Martinez’s job has come under intense scrutiny this season with the Toffees languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League.
“We’re in a results business and all I need to do is make sure we carry on showing that character and togetherness as a team and to make sure we get that winning feeling back”.
Their home form has been the biggest concern for fans, with only 4 wins to keep the Goodison faithful happy it’s no wonder there have been calls for Martinez, in his 3rd season with the team, to be shown the door.
Substitutes Benik Afobe and Junior Stanislas had shots blocked for Bournemouth and Afobe planted a header wide from a great position after 77 minutes as the visitors pressed, but Everton held on for just their fifth home league victory of the season.
Exciting youngster Kieran Dowell was also handed a Premier League debut in the closing stages. “I’m more capable now to find the final adjustments to make us better”.
Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles wants to be the club’s number one next season and is ready to battle it out for the post.
“I am the manager of the football club and I am the one that takes the responsibility”.
Everton’s slide was at least halted by three overdue points, but a week after an FA Cup semi-final defeat and with a hammering by Liverpool fresh in the memory, Martinez’s future still looks to be in serious jeopardy.

John Stones and Ross Barkley are two recent examples of inexperienced players rising to prominence – and full England honours – through the Everton ranks.
