Misfits to reunite with ‘original’ lineup at Riot Fest
In news that’s sure to surprise fans, Glenn Danzig will be reuniting with his former band, the Misfits, for two Riot Fest appearances in September.

After Danzig had left the band in ’83 for Samhain, brothers Only and Doyle put the band back together in ’95 with various lineups that included Dez Cadena and Robo from Black Flag, and Marky Ramone. He split with them in 1983.
The band’s initial breakup in 1983 began a chain of various legal battles between Danzig and the other members, with Only gaining the rights to record and tour under The Misfits name in the 90s. There’s no word from either camp about what prompted the reunion, but they appear to have put their bad blood aside for the moment. The full lineup is still under wraps, but this morning Riot Fest announced one of the biggest names on the bill-a reunited version of the Misfits, performing as the Original Misfits.
Riotfest Denver will take place on September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the National Western Complex while Riotfest Chicago takes place on September 16th, 17th, and 18th at Douglas Park.
