The Blades sacked Nigel Adkins on Thursday morning, and have moved quickly to try and secure the services of Town manager Wilder, with chairman Kelvin Thomas admitting he expects the deal to be done “in the neext 24 hours”.
The Blades have hired their former defender Wilder, who led Northampton to the Sky Bet League 2 title, on a three-year deal having removed Adkins from his post just 11 months into a three-year contract following an 11th-placed finish in League 1.

The Blades sacked Adkins earlier today after a last day defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe United condemned them to their lowest league position since 1983.
