Archie Comics live action series ‘Riverdale’ coming to The CW
The CW renewed pretty much it’s entire slate of shows earlier this year, and it plans to expand its line-up further for the 2016-2017 season with four new series.

In news that should surprise no one, news has come today from Deadline that The CW has officially ordered the Archie Comics adaptation Riverdale to series.
“Supergirl”, the CBS series that follows the adventures of Superman’s female cousin Kara Zor-El, is moving to The CW for its second season. “It’s a culmination of my time here, and I’m eager to see Greg Berlanti, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, The CW, Warner Brothers Studios, and the cast bring Riverdale to viewers every week”.
Set in present-day and based on the iconic Archie Comics characters, Riverdale is a surprising and subversive take on Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes), and their friends, exploring the surrealism of small town life – the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade. Cole Sprouse, Ashleigh Murray, Luke Perry, MadelainePetsch, Marisol Nichols, and MädchenAmick will also star.
Frequency, a reimagining of a 2000 movie starring Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel, comes from Supernatural producer Jeremy Carver.

The network has also picked up “No Tomorrow”, from “Jane The Virgin” alum Corinne Brinkerhoff, along with Scott McCabe and Tory Stanton. Maggie Friedman (Witches of East End) is also producing. Variety reports the network has given a series order to Riverdale for the 2016-17 season. No Tomorrow stars Tori Anderson, Josh Sasse, Sarayu Blue, Amy Pietz, Jesse Rath, and Jonathan Langdon.
