Bryant, a former Notre Dame player, and passenger Maurice Grover were found shot in a vehicle along southbound Interstate 95 in West Palm Beach, police told The Palm Beach Post. UAB had issued statements earlier in the day before from Clark, President Ray Watt and athletic director Mark Ingram saying that Bryant had died.
Bryant had been shot in the head and succumbed to his injuries Sunday afternoon. He spent last season at a junior college in Miami and enrolled at UAB in January after signing a national letter of intent to play for the Blazers when their football program is reinstated in 2017. (AP) – Police in Florida say they are searching for clues after a shooting that killed a University of Alabama Birmingham football player.
Bryant starred at American Heritage high school where he was a highly touted recruit who committed to Notre Dame.
A West Palm Beach police spokeswoman, Detective Lori Colombino, gave no updates Monday on the investigation.
Bryant was taken to a hospital in critical condition while his passenger was hospitalized with only minor injuries. Detectives are seeking witnesses for the shooting, and the perpetrator is still at large.
“The hardest part in all of this is knowing this happened too soon, “said Timothy Alexander, UAB Football Team’s Life Coach”. He could become eligible to compete after spending an academic year at UAB.
“Coach Clark, he really did me a favor, because I was living in hotels in Miami”, Bryant said.
“I guess God needed a running back and Greg’s number was called”, Mosley said.

“I worked out with him all week and he just talked to me about how he changed and how he finally got a 3.0 GPA”.
