Sanders takes stage in OR as primary nears
Sanders told us, his focus remains on winning the democratic nomination for president. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, spoke at the North Dakota GOP convention in April, as did Dr. Ben Carson.

Parsons said she likes Trump’s straightforward demeanor.
The senator says he’s “even more scared about her being in control of the US government”. “We need jobs. I think that’s the best choice”.
Despite Clinton’s overwhelming delegate lead, Sanders ensured the race would go on with his win in West Virginia, where he was ahead of Clinton by 11 percentage points with about a third of precincts reporting.
She has less support in OH, with 39 percent to Trump’s 43 percent.
Sanders was pretty poised to win the state. Clinton “said I’m going to put mines out of business”.
His most recent victory, however, will do little to slow the former secretary of state’s steady march toward the nomination.
“It looks to me like Stockton is ready for a political revolution”, Sanders said. She declined to say whom she backed, though.
Even a decisive victory for Sanders in West Virginia would close the gap between them only slightly. He has narrowed his picks for running mate, telling Fox News he is considering five vice president options. That’s according to a person familiar with the decision but not authorized to speak about it before it’s announced.
Rather, the 70-year-old retiree called Trump “the lesser of two evils” compared to Clinton. “Because he’s not a politician, he views things from a different viewpoint”.
Lewandowski’s new responsibilities were first reported Tuesday by The Washington Post. But that doesn’t appear to mean he will campaign on behalf of Donald Trump. “Bernie wants to move us forward”.
The Nebraska and West Virginia primaries were the first since Mr Trump’s last remaining rivals left the race last week.
That’s because of heavy participation in early voting.
Unlike in perhaps every other state, Clinton’s connection to Obama seems to contaminate her.
In addition to the vote in West Virginia, Republicans also voted in Nebraska on Tuesday where Trump also ran unopposed.
Probably true, and that could happen Tuesday. Trump has won at least three of the state’s 34 delegates outright, but the other 31 are elected directly by voters.
“It is a great honor to have won both West Virginia and Nebraska, especially by such massive margins”, he said.
According to NPR’s analysis going into Tuesday, to get a pledged majority Sanders needed 65 percent of all remaining pledged delegates.
The overall record for both parties was set by Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2008. He says the polling place had four voting machines.
Hillary Clinton has new ads up in Kentucky, where Democrats vote in a primary in a week. An additional 5,000 West Virginians turned in absentee ballots.
The latest Priorities USA purchase is for commercials on black and Hispanic radio stations in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Colorado and Virginia. There have been rumblings of a possible independent bid organized by conservative Republicans who don’t like Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton is rolling out proposals to curb the cost of child care for working parents. The loss of momentum makes it more hard for her to make the case she can close the deal with the broad liberal base.
Trump now needs just 130 delegates to officially become the presidential nominee of the party in July.
Such a result would only serve to underscore the awkward position that Sanders, Clinton and the Democratic Party face as the presidential primary campaign continues into its endgame.

Trump has echoed the state’s complaints against the Environmental Protection Agency, but otherwise hasn’t detailed how he would fight the many forces crushing West Virginia’s coal industry. “We will be back here in Oakland, we will be in San Francisco, we will be marching all over the state, and we hope you will be marching with us”, Sanders promised the crowd.
