Rangers give up on Ranaudo, ship him to White Sox
But that was all momentarily forgotten when the third baseman appeared to be seriously injured in the fourth inning of the White Sox’s 6-5 loss to the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

After Frazier’s 11th homer of the season tied the game, Melky Cabrera followed with a single and Brett Lawrie homered into the White Sox bullpen in left field for a 4-2 lead.
The ball ultimately popped out of his glove, costing the White Sox an out and their third baseman for the rest of the afternoon.
Adrian Beltre went just 1-4 but had arguably the biggest hit of the day with his single in the sixth inning that drove in Desmond and proved to become the game-winning run. Four Texas relievers worked 3 1/3 shutout innings and gave up only two hits. He is the owner of a career 6.98 ERA in 53 minor-league appearances (28 starts), and is not listed among MLB.com’s top 30 White Sox prospects. It’s clear the best team in the American League needs the off day and so does Todd Frazier.
Frazier hit his mouth on a seat when he jumped into the crowd while tracking the foul ball in the fourth inning.
That error led to an unearned run that put the White Sox ahead, 5-4.
Frazier received five stitches and his status is day-to-day.
When he returned to the booth, Harrelson said, “I’m no doctor, but it appears he’ll be okay”, A White Sox Twitter account later released an update on Frazier saying he “left today’s game with a laceration to his lower lip”. “He went over for a ball, and he got it”. It’s been a fun 24 hours.
The Sox’ 40-man roster increases to 38, and they will make a corresponding move to replace Carroll on Friday.
