2 officers shot in New Hampshire; search on for shooter
Manchester police are “no longer looking for the suspect” thought to have shot two New Hampshire police officers early Friday morning, Police Chief Nick Willard said during a press conference with WMUR. Some schools have been closed for the day and several streets have been closed as well as police continue the search for the armed man.

The officers were shot at separate locations around 2 a.m. Friday.
Police have asked residents to shelter in place for the area around Wayne Street, Putnam Street, and Rimmon streets and are asking West side residents to avoid leaving their homes. Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas said the officers, who were not identified, “seem to be fine”.
It wasn’t immediately clear why the post was taken down or why the order was lifted.
“I have spoken with them both and am grateful that they are expected to recover”, Gov. Maggie Hassan said in a statement.
Witness Bob McKenna said he heard 10-12 gunshots before hearing more than a dozen cruisers rush through the scene of the second officer shooting in Manchester.
Police believe one man is responsible for both shootings, and he is still at large.
The suspect is armed with a handgun and is considered extremely unsafe.

The closed schools include: Gossler Park Elementary, Northwest Elementary, Parker-Varney Elementary, Middle School at Parkside, and West High School. A MA state police helicopter is assisting in the search for a suspect.
