A few days after Cara Delevingne’s disastrous interview on Good Day Sacramento for the film adaptation of the book Paper Towns, the book’sauthor John Green took to social media to defend Cara.

McClary (at the desk with co-anchor Ken Rudulph) then ask Delevingne, who is starring in the new movie Paper Towns, if she’d read the book.
“Cara Delevingne, Press Junketry and Me”, John pointed out that Cara gets asked the question about reading the book repeatedly but her male co-star never does.
He also praised the 22-year-old actress for refusing “to indulge in lazy questions” and being “f***ing interesting”. I don’t find that behaviour entitled or haughty. I find it admirable.
Needless to say, the interview was cut short and the news station even ended up cutting out Cara’s satellite feed abruptly, as the anchors continued to bash Cara for being “moody”.
The breakfast show hosts ended the interview early and suggested Delevingne was in “a mood”.

In an essay in Medium on Thursday, John Green particularly takes issue with the fact that one of the anchors asked Delevingne if she had read the book on which the movie was based. Kendall Jenner has made it clear that she wants to make it in the modelling industry on her own merits, rather than following the family blueprint of reality TV.
“I saw you in London talking a couple of weeks ago on TV, and you seemed a lot more excited about it than you do right now”.

She had support from celebrities such as Zach Braff and Boy George, as well as thousands of her fans on Twitter.
For her part, Delevingne didn’t seem too anxious about the interview.
So clearly, she needs no help standing up for herself. Is being a supermodel-actress no longer a real career requiring hard work?

Delevingne tweeted a screenshot of an excerpt from Green’s essay yesterday, along with the caption “Whoever said this!”
