The rise of the “freemium” business model in apps, in which programs are offered for free but developers make money on in-game purchases, has resonated in Finland. But, if you just stepped out of a time machine or recently were awakened from some multi-year catatonic state (Hey, stranger things have happened.) the basic gist is this- Dastardly green pigs have stolen the eggs of some birds, which in turn has made them raging. According to PC Mag, the visuals have been overhauled and the gameplay has multiple stages in each level. These rewards will help you get the items that you need to defeat hard levels.

Speaking of retries, potentially the most controversial change in raging Birds 2 is the addition of a Candy Crush-style life system. So what’s so new and exciting about mad Birds 2 that the numerous spinoffs and not-quite-sequels were missing?

One could argue that the first mad Birds came with relatively simple level designs before expansion packs were added on. It’s got a lives system, power-ups, an in-game currencies, ads you can watch, perks for pestering friends on Facebook and all sorts of stuff you can buy ranging from continues to life refills. Study each bird carefully and see which ones are the best for any given situation. It’s an addition that could spur continued involvement in the game after the initial levels are overcome. The tables have even been turned, with players experiencing the pig side of things in Bad Piggies [$0.99], another great, and often under-appreciated, game set in the raging Birds world.

That doesn’t really make a lot of sense because each of those 13 games was just as much a sequel as mad Birds 2 is, but nonetheless, it’s been a while since we’ve had a proper raging Birds game, so I’m not complaining.

Finnish computer game developer Rovio Entertainment has released “Angry Birds 2” and players can download the video game on their Apple iOS and Android devices.

There are upgrades available every day if you just log on.

The game is free-to-play, with players earning gems by completing quests to earn extra bird lives and tickets. Better yet, raging Birds 2 is free, so those who want to try out the title without plunking down cash-something they didn’t have the chance to do when it first launched in 2009-will be able to do so. And mad Birds 2 takes full advantage of those advances. That’s just one of the reasons mad Birds 2, which launched on July 30, promises to be a hit.
