Hyperloop One Completes 1st Public Test of Futuristic Transportation System

The first public demonstration of a hyperloop train, the proposed supersonic transport system, has taken place in the Nevada desert, taking its “first tentative step towards reality”, says The Guardian.

“It’s awesome, it’s just a culmination of the engineering team’s work”, said Brogan Bambrogan, co-founder, Hyperloop One.

Wednesday’s demonstration was the first public glimpse of Hyperloop, a system that could send people and cargo through tubes at the speed of sound.

Musk first promoted the concept for the Hyperloop in 2013, and now three short years later Hyperloop One – a private startup that announced its plans to develop a route between L.A. and San Francisco in 2015 – has taken up the mantle and begun with design and testing.

An high speed transportation system which aims to whisk passengers at speeds of up to 750mph has been tested in America. Musk is maintaining his distance as players like Hyperloop One make progress.

“I would really like to note that all of that happened on objective!” said a giddy Brogan BamBrogan, Hyperloop One’s cofounder, after the test was over. Accelerating at 2G-force it hit a patch of sand 100 yards down the line.

“We purchased land here in December, and we demonstrated today a full-scale component of the Hyperloop, just over my right shoulder, in just a couple of months from beginning construction”, said CEO Rob Llo, Hyperloop One.

LOS ANGELES-Everything about the Hyperloop, the idea, the ambition, the challenges, is big.

The test was over in two second, but it was enough, according to Hyperloop One’s founders, to show that technology similar to that used in high-speed maglev trains could be deployed more cheaply, without the steep cost of high-tech trains and rails.

“All of this is to get us into a position to run this full scale, full system test later this year”, said Pishevar. The California-based company announced Tuesday that it was tweaking its name from Hyperloop Technologies and had closed an $80 million round of financing.

“AECOMs partnership with Hyperloop One has the potential to transform the movement of both people and freight”, said Mike Burke, AECOM’s chairman and CEO. Hyperloop One will accept competitive proposals up to September 15, and the winning proposals will be selected in March 2017, company officials said.
