Paul Ryan says he’ll talk with Donald Trump about unifying Republicans
“And if we leave him, we’re going to have Hillary as president, simple as that”.

And if elected, Trump would need their helping in pushing his agenda through Congress.
GOP Senators acknowledged the transition the party needed to make to come together after the long and raucous primary season.
“I haven’t met him yet, so I want to get to talk to him about some issues”, said West Virginia Sen.
Trump for his part said that he was “blindsided” by Ryan’s non-endorsement.
“I never said never”, Ryan told the Journal Sentinel Monday.
“The main thrust [of the call] was, it is still [important] to stay engaged in the process, go to your state GOP convention if it remains upcoming and keep your plans to go to the convention in Cleveland”, a source said.
This would be the first meeting between the two leaders after Mr. Trump emerged as the Republican presumptive nominee for the November election. Sarah Palin has been the most vocal, saying Ryan has “disrespected the will of the American people”.
The New York billionaire seemed to be sending a message to party critics who are withholding support or planning to skip the convention. Palin added. The former Alaskan governor then said she felt Ryan was not endorsing Trump because he didn’t want to “screw his chances for the 2020 presidential bid”.
Palin, who endorsed Trump early in the 2016 primary process, appeared bothered by Ryan’s reluctance to endorse the GOP’s presumptive nominee.
“I never said never”. “People here know me extremely well”.
“I will give you a very solid answer, if that happens, about one minute after that happens”.
When asked if he thought Romney was ungrateful, Trump said, “He was ungrateful. I don’t require any fix of that”.
“I have a nice relationship with him”. McCain, a Navy pilot shot down and held as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese for five years, said Trump owes military veterans an apology.
Trump has not gone out of his way to extend an olive branch to Republicans skeptical of his candidacy.
“Donald Trump is not wanting to rewrite the platform, okay?” Trump “just won that overwhelmingly, faster than anybody in Washington thought and running as an outsider against Washington”.

Paul Ryan told reporters on Monday that he is willing to step down from role as co-chairman of the Republican National Convention in July if Donald Trump asks him to do so.
