My tax rate is ‘none of your business’
“What the financials don’t show also is your tax rate, they don’t show whether you paid a low tax rate or no tax rates”, Stephanopoulos said during a lengthy round of questioning on Good Morning America about the billionaire’s financials.

The Associated Press published an interview on May 11 in which the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump refused to release his tax returns. But I do say this, I will really gladly give them.
In challenging Trump on taxes, Clinton turned to a well-worn strategy that President Barack Obama used against Romney in 2012, pressuring him to release his personal taxes.
When asked whether it would focus exclusively on Muslim immigration, Trump replied: “Muslim but I also want him to take a look at the southern border…Rudy will be the chairman and he should be able to come back – you know, he moves quickly”.
TRUMP: I try very hard to pay as little tax as possible and have said that for the last two years. Trump contended that the government “wastes” tax payers’ money and he considers taxes “an expense”.
He said it would be “meaningless” to release the returns from years ago when he had not been audited. Despite the added pressure, Trump says he won’t follow suit until the audits are wrapped up, claiming he is following the advice of his legal team.
In a Facebook post Wednesday, Romney said the returns provide the public with information about the candidate’s charitable giving, wealth and other dealings.
According to AP, Trump does not believe he has an obligation to release his returns and does not believe voters are interested in his returns.
Former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney said it was a “disqualifying” for the Republican front-runner not to release his tax returns. How little, if any tax the Trump actually pays could be a major campaign issue.
“It would give us a good indication, however, of the financial conditions of his various businesses”, she said. Still, he said, “I hope it gets finished soon”.
“I don’t have Swiss bank accounts”, he said. “There are emails missing all over the place”, Trump said.
Clinton began calling this week on Trump to do the same.

“There’s nothing to learn from them”, he said in the interview. The GMA host was pressured into recusing himself from moderating Republican debates previous year as a result of his past employment with and donations to the Clinton Foundation.
