Later in the fourth quarter, Curry kicks to Andre Igoudala for the trifecta, and the MVP of last year’s NBA Finals puts Golden State up four.

Following the Warriors’ Game 4 overtime win in Portland, Green was asked if he thought Portland was done, and he responded in a a typically vociferous way.

The fifth-seeded Trail Blazers gave the top-seeded Warriors a battle in Game 5, leading early by as many as 11 points and hanging within 118-116 inside the final 50sec of the game. When accepting his award, Curry got emotional and spent a lot of time talking about his wife.

They lost 2.1-metre centre Andrew Bogut for the second half because of a right leg injury.

“I couldn’t imagine anybody not voting him first, and yet there always seems to be somebody who has to stand out”, Coach of the Year Steve Kerr said. “They’re legends, guys that are household names… to be the first unanimous MVP is something that I don’t know how to put into words”.

The Trail Blazers’ roster has major contrasts from the 2014-2015 season.

If Oklahoma City eliminate the Spurs in game six on Thursday, the best-of-seven Western Conference finals would begin Monday in Oakland.

‘We should be proud of the way we pushed them, ‘ Lillard said.

Curry received all 131 first-place votes, accumulating 1,310 points to beat out San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard (634) and Cleveland forward LeBron James (631).

“It’s going to come back, you hope it’s within the series”. Thompson led the Warriors with 33 points.

Once again, Golden State delighted its raucous home crowd at Oracle Arena, where yellow confetti fell immediately after the final buzzer.

“He reinvents the game every time he takes the floor”, Silver said. Curry’s teammate Draymond Green was seventh.

“We just tried to go out there and be aggressive”, DeRozan said. “Let’s keep it going”. Aminu has been consistently good for the Blazers in this series, averaging 17.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and shooting 54.3 percent, including 13 of 24 (54.2 percent) on 3-pointers. When it comes down to metrics, he has an overall 50% shooting percentage, 45% from three, and 91% from free throw.
