Turkish President Erdogan visiting Pakistan today

“This would be his first visit to Islamabad as the president of Turkey”, spokesman at the Foreign Office said in a statement, not revealing the amount of time that the Turkish leader will spend in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the later’s stopover at Islamabad on Saturday (tomorrow), while on his way back to home from Indonesia, an official statement said on Friday.

He added that the Assad regime employs all kinds of dirty means in the conflict, including the use of chemical weapons and ballistic missiles as well as collaborating with terrorist organizations in the struggle against its people.

As for the PKK, we may have designated them a terrorist organization at the urging of the Turks, but if they are not attacking us, we ought not to be attacking them.

Erdogan called for closer cooperation against xenophobia, discrimination and Islamophobia.

“Recently, discriminatory actions in Europe against Muslims make us too sad”.

With the conflicts in Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Libya and Yemen, the Mediterranean Sea had become “the most problematic area in the world, instead of being a sea of peace”, Erdogan told the students.

He said that after India and Pakistan decided to join the SCO, this structure has got a special importance for Turkey.

He ended by vowing to fight terrorism “even if Turkey stands alone battling it”.
