Light aircraft crashes at Hampshire Airport

A small plane Friday crashed into a auto auction site in Blackbushe Airport in south England’s Hampshire, killing all the four people on board, Xinhua reported.

Andrew Thomas, who was paying for a auto at the time in the reception, told Sky News it was an “aggressive fire” and there was “explosion after explosion”.

Witnesses speaking to the Telegraph claimed the aircraft clipped a fence and flipped over before landing on a number of cars just after 3pm.

An airport spokesman said: ‘Blackbushe Airport confirmed that a Phenom 300 Jet with four persons on board crashed near the end of the runway around 3.09pm while attempting to make a landing.’.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to the airfield, used by private planes, about 40 miles (65 kilometers) southwest of London.

Four pumps and three other appliances are at the scene.

Venner said police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch have launched a joint investigation into the crash.
