Rougned Odor Lands Vicious Punch To Jose Bautista’s Jaw In Brawl
The Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers may play in separate divisions, but their rivalry is quickly becoming one of the most heated in all of Major League Baseball. Yeah, so does Rougned Odor and the rest of the Texas Rangers. The two exchanged words, but then the encounter turned physical as Odor pushed Bautista, who moved toward Odor. In the second incident, Chavez and Jays bench coach DeMarlo Hale were both tossed.

It was equally eventful – if not as violent – in NY where the Yankees won their second straight match against the Chicago White Sox 7-5, while the Oakland Athletics enjoyed a 7-6 win at the Tampa Bay Rays. Justin Smoak, the next Toronto batter, grounded to third base. “To me, it was gutless”. Just when you thought it was over, it wasn’t. “And I know they played in Toronto already, and I think everything went smooth up there. I thought it was very cowardly too, to wait until my last at-bat of the whole series when they could have come out and sent whatever message they wanted to send before that”. “The ball got away.’ That ain’t going to fly”. Toronto LHP Brett Cecil, who had some tightness in his left triceps, was put on the 15-day disabled list. RHP Dustin Antolin was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo. Hitting No. 400 “means a lot to me and my family and Puerto Rico”, he said.
Rangers: RHP Yu Darvish will make his fourth rehab start Tuesday for Double-A Frisco at Midland. It shouldn’t surprise that there would be eight ejections in a game where tensions were running so high between the Jays and the Rangers.
Bautista was hit in the ribs on the first pitch of his final at-bat in the eighth inning.

Tigers 6, Orioles 5 – J.D. Martinez and Miguel Cabrera homered on consecutive pitches in the eighth inning, and Detroit ended host Baltimore’s seven-game winning streak.
