“This is not the normal, everyday affair in Cass County”, Rowe said.

The incident happened at the unidentified man’s property around 3 a.m., Chief Deputy Roy Barker with the Cass County Sheriff’s department told The Huffington Post Friday.
A Georgia man wounded his 74-year-old mother-in-law in April after his 9mm bullet careened off an armadillo, hit a fence, went through the back door of mom’s mobile home and penetrated the recliner she was sitting in.
Officials in Cass County, Texas, say the man suffered a graze wound to the head when he fired at an armadillo and the bullet ricocheted off the mammal’s rigid protective covering and struck him.
A local hospital reportedly treated the man for minor injuries.
Ask Samuel Ebert, who accidentally took a bullet to his jaw Thursday during an armadillo shooting gone awry.
It was not the first time a bullet ricocheting off an armadillo injured a person.
Deputies are investigating the incident as “a possible accidental shooting”.
That armadillo died, but it’s unclear whether the one involved in this latest incident survived.

Barker said it’s not unusual for armadillos to be shot in Texas, as they’re widely seen as pests.
