The almost two month-long gruelling campaigning in peak summer for the May 16 Tamil Nadu assembly election that is witnessing a multi-cornered contest comes to an end today.

Stating that both the Congress and BJP governments failed to adopt the M S Swaminathan recommendations on fixing the prices for agricultural produce, Ramakrishnan said that if the alliance came to power, a target of 10 per cent growth will be set in the five years, for which an action plan also has been drawn.
The two party-run propaganda-spreading news channels, owned by AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa and DMK honcho M Karunanidhi respectively, have been trading charges at each other, in a desperate bid to get the strings of Tamil Nadu into their hands.
Jayalalithaa is seeking a record second successive term in office in the state, where elections have dethroned the ruling party in the recent decades.
Of the 234 seats, 44 (SC) and two (ST) are reserved constituencies. He claimed that only BJP was capable of it and would implement it if voted to power.
The AIADMK is going to the polls aligning with a couple of smaller outfits.
AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalithaa assured here on Thursday that if her government was re-elected she would bring a special and stronger act against the All-India Pre-Medical and Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) for the welfare of medical and dental aspirants from poor rural backgrounds.
In her letter, Jayalalithaa urged the cadres to tell the people that the DMK-Congress combine will inflict harm on the welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils.

In AIADMK’s advertisement, she said “Amma fed her” and in DMK’s ad, she said why vote for the incumbent govt. 35 crore in 2011 election.
