Towns would become UK’s first ever player to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

Minnesota is expected to formally make the announcement at an 11 a.m. news conference at the Target Center Monday.

Towns was the Timberwolves number one pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Towns average over 18 points, 10 rebounds and almost two blocks per game for the T’wolves. He averaged eight more points and 3.7 more rebounds than he did during his only season at the University of Kentucky. The Timberwolves finished with a 29-53 record and failed to reach the playoffs. “People who know me know I’m never satisfied”. “He’s going to be a Hall of Famer in this league”, Durant recently said about Towns.

While Russell continues to work on improving how he plays the game, Towns more than deserves the award this season, as he’s done a spectacular job of blooming where he’s planted. I’m just never satisfied.

For the second straight year, the NBA’s Rookie of the Year will be a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, with their new head coach Tim Thibodeau, the Timberwolves are expected to undergo lots of adjustments and preparations in the upcoming 2016-17 National Basketball Association season.
