If you want the WhatsApp beta version, not that there’s really anything new on it right now, you can download the APK file onto your phone. The company’s developers are constantly checking for errors and working to optimize the associated data usage. The functionality has already made its appearance in WhatsApp Messenger app for Android for beta testers under the version 20.16.80. However, can not place video calls to anyone, including video call to other Beta users. However, it is still unclear that whether WhatsApp will roll out the feature to all or it will send out invites like it has earlier done with voice calling feature. According to WhatsApp, 1 Billion users are now using WhatsApp and it’s ranked 8th among top downloads on Android devices.
As said above, WhatsApp’s video-calling feature is one that has been anticipated for quite sometime now and looks to take on rivals like Microsoft’s Skype and Google’s Hangouts which dominate video calling arena as of now.

What do you think about video calling feature being added in WhatsApp? It seems that the design and layout of the video call feature is still unavailable. The messaging service this week also released its first desktop apps, making WhatsApp available for Windows and OS X users in a non-browser form. The Facebook owned-messaging app has introduced a lot of features for their users like end-to-end encryption, text formatting, document sharing and UI updates also got thumbs up from the users and tech critics. Since it has not been implemented globally, when you try to place a video call, the app will give a message saying “Couldn’t place call”.
