Azealia Banks has posted an apology on her Instagram account in response to getting in trouble after posting some racist comments on social media regarding Zayn Malik.
While the Twittersphere erupted with users piling on to tell Banks to calm down and shut up, Malik tried come off like he wasn’t referring to her in any of his tweets.
The initial defiance of Azealia Banks in wake of the forfeiture of her Twitter account has resulted in a change of heart.
Following racist and homophobic remarks directed at Zayn Malik on Wednesday she became one of the biggest talking points of the day.
In the apology, Azealia also acknowledges how using racial slurs and derogatory language was not only inappropriate but offensive to many of her followers. She suggested that his new video for his song “Like I Would” looked liked some of her existing work.
She wrote: “And as for curry, it’s honestly some dumb nyc joke about cabs smelling like curry”.
Azealia was eventually banned from Twitter, and despite initially refusing to back down she has now apologised to “the world” through Instagram – though she doesn’t directly mention Zayn by name. All the things she didn’t get done, just f-king do that and shut up. “I just feel like what she’s doing is not okay”, she stated.
