Christie rips into gun rights activist in Iowa

One man who is making the rounds is Chris Christie himself, as he spoke to potential voters on July 25 in Ankeny, Iowa, reported by the Des Moines Register.

However, New Jersey’s laws require that guns be unloaded and in the trunk when being carried in a vehicle, and Fletcher was hit with a felony charge.

The exchange between the candidate and the voter was closer to a debate, as the young man hit Christie with a series of questions about his record on a litany of gun regulations imposed on New Jersey citizens.

“I mean, as a former prosecutor, I’ll tell you, that’s like getting a search warrant, going to someone’s house and then saying: “I’ll be back in 24 days to see if there’s any evidence of a crime.’ Even the stupidest criminal in the world would be able to get rid of that evidence”, Christie says”.

“This is a life-and-death situation and this is absolutely the worst thing this president has done”, Christie says.

“By the way, I vetoed the ID system”, Christie said.

That’s swell, Chris. But when your campaign slogan is “Telling It Like It Is”, it would help if you weren’t infamous in your home state as an audacious, inveterate liar.

The confrontation lasted over five minutes, as others in the crowd seemed to shift uncomfortably in their seats.

At one point, the man held up his cell phone and asked the governor about a 1995 ad where Christie attacked his opponent for supporting a repeal of the assault weapons ban in New Jersey. Christie pointed out that his views have changed over the last 20 years.

Christie said presidents and governors are not “an emperor or a dictator”.

Christie will be on the stump in Iowa Friday before returning to New Hampshire on Sunday. “You want better gun laws, elect a Republican legislature, and these laws will be changed”.
