Blank says work on Falcons’ new stadium is on schedule
However, the Falcons announced a shocking menu that features $2 hotdogs and sodas, $3 waffle fries and $5 beers and cheeseburgers. A chicken tenders basket will cost $6.

During a press conference at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, team owner Arthur Blank announced the pricing structure for food and drink at the stadium, and fans should be very excited – especially those heading to games with the family in tow. “That’s 60 to 70 percent cheaper than our competitors”.
The pricing system is a permanent one that will be in effect for Atlanta United matches, Atlanta Falcons games as well as major events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium including the Chick-fil-a Peach Bowl, SEC Championship Game, the College Football National Championship (2018) and the NCAA Men’s Final Four slated for 2020. “It’s either lack of quality, lousy delivery or blood curdling pricing”.
But Rich McKay, President and CEO of the Atlanta Falcons, thinks differently.
The Falcons hope to make up some of the money lost on typical margins by doing volume. Soda refill stations will be separate from lines for those ordering for the first time.
Leave the change in your wallet: The prices were rounded up intentionally to include tax so fans can pay with paper currency and not have to worry about getting coins back as change.
The prices also could serve as an incentive for fans to buy tickets.
The Falcons are also giving fans a little more room in the new stadium. That allowed the team creativity to make the drastic change.
Several local restaurants have signed contracts to sell food at the stadium: Blank and McKay wouldn’t give specific names (though McKay did note that barbecue would be in the mix), but said they’d already set deals with at least five local restaurants and are in talks with four to five more to sell food at the stadium.

When Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium opens next year, the team plans to offer staples like nachos and soft pretzels at near skating-rink prices, according to a report in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
