Diego Simeone: Champions League final is 50:50
City lost out to Real Madrid for a place in the final after going down 1-0 in the return leg at Santiago Bernabeu, with Gareth Bale’s 20th-minute delivery deflecting off Fernando and into the net.

Real Madrid will face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final for the second time in three years after overcoming Manchester City 1-0 in their semi-final second leg on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s win ended City’s best ever participation in the Champions League, though it was outclassed on the night and never really looked like turning the game around. Real edged a thrilling final in 2014 for their 10th European Cup in Lisbon as Sergio Ramos’s injury-time header denied Atletico their first European Cup by sending the game to extra-time before Los Blancos ran out 4-1 winners.
Eliaquim Mangala was forced on to deputise for Kompany, but Citys makeshift defence wasnt overly troubled despite the presence of Ronaldo and an in-form Bale in the first 45 minutes.
Simeone said he’s proud that Atletico have been able to compete neck and neck with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona while spending significantly less money. They played and defended well.
“We will give everything in our souls in another final”. With the Champions League dream dashed, we shall see what kind of attitude Manchester City come out with the next two matches as they can be crucial to the start of Pep Guardiola’s regime as manager.
“Zidane is doing a great job”.
Just one shot on target for the visitors, but Zidane says his team were made to fight for their win. “I don’t think that we deserved to reach the final but it was a bit of luck that Real will play in the final”.
“Commenting about his injury, he said: “I was at a hundred percent. I think they did a lot”. Not happy just because it’s me, I think it’s the work of everyone, and I’m happy because of the players.
Ronaldo added: “We’ve always had Zizou’s back, he’s humble, he knows how to listen and that’s always important”.
