Tonight’s Castle Season 8 finale, which happens to be the series last airing, will see private investigator Richard Castle and Detective Kate Beckett team up for the last time after ABC and ABC Studios axed the popular crime procedural series last week. There is no plausible way for Beckett to leave Castle except by death. “Kate Beckett will be dead by the end of the night and there is nothing you can do about it”, he warns.

The promo video reveals that Castle is strapped and being interrogated by a mysterious man who threatens him to confide everything he knows about the LokSat case. Mason calmly told Castle as he was leaving that he was going to kill everyone Castle loves. With Castle stuck in a safe house with daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn), mom Martha (Susan Sullivan) and sharpshooter Haley (Toks Olagundoye), Beckett sets out to face the evil-doer on her own, more or less. Following the series finale, Nathan Fillion took to Twitter to thank fans for their support. “(Mic drop) Castle out”. In the final moments, the episode flash forwards a whole seven years, showing our formerly wounded super couple still married and with three Caskett children in tow. See? “Crossfire”, the name of Episode 822, brought an end to a light-hearted, featherweight crime series – Murder, He Wrote, in one of the show’s early jokes – that drew cult-level devotion from fans enthralled by its formulaic mysteries, breezy repartee and a central romance that wasn’t so much Will They/Won’t They as How Long/Can They. You are the reason this show survived and thrived.

They greeted all their friends and family members, hugged, and rejoiced that it was all over, before Castle and Beckett headed back to their apartment.
