The problem with Azhar the film is that it twists too many facts to present its version of the truth.

The much-awaited movie that had been turning heads way before it was released – Azhar – is mostly a docu-drama than a life biopic of cricket legend Mohammed Azharuddin.
Azhar has been the most anticipated film of recent times, simply because it is based on the life of India’s most controversial cricketer. Emraan Hashmi who played the role of Azharuddin addressed a press conference in Hyderabad yesterday in connection with the promotion of film “Azhar” produced by Sony Pictures Network and Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The story of the person who ruled Indian cricket after coming from a poor background has been etched well by the director.
While the promoting his upcoming film “Azhar”, in a media interaction, Hashmi said that he has plans to write a book on lip-locks as well.
Emraan Hashmi starrer Azhar has received a fair occupancy in the morning shows.
“I always say that those were the glory days of cricket, which Azhar bhai was a part of, and I was fortunate to have grown up in that time”. The movie showcases Azharuddin’s life, how he grew from a normal man to a famous cricketer by setting back-to-back records in the history of Cricket ever!
It was indeed a pity that the career of former India Mohammad Azharuddin had to end the way it did – marred by match-fixing allegations – a blot on an otherwise magnificent career. There are pointed references to Azhar’s need to fulfil an extravagant lifestyle after he fell in love with a high-maintenance movie star. Even Prachi Desai excelled in her role, adding some glamor to the screen. It might just divulge a lot about them and their link with the match-fixing scandal. Anyway, let’s focus on the movie to get the crux of the same.
The music too is doing very well and two songs, ‘Bol Do Na Zara’ and ‘Bas Itni Si Baat Hai, ‘ are topping charts and Emraan Hashmi, music’s lucky mascot is back with a bang!
We all know about Azhar’s stellar performance as a batsman – scoring a century on his Test debut for India – and later as captain of the Indian team.

There were reports that Azharuddin’s former wife Sangeeta Bijlani and popular cricketer Manoj Prabhakar are set to sue the makers of the film for showing them in a bad light once the film releases.
