There are two types of UV light that can harm your skin – UVA and UVB. An add-on window tint is a good option for owners of older vehicle models that don’t come with the built-in UV protection, shared Day. “Indoor tanning is particularly unsafe for younger users; people who begin indoor tanning during adolescence or early adulthood have a higher risk of getting skin cancer”. While the car’s front windshield can provide ample protection, the same cannot be said for the side windows.

Non-melanoma skin cancer becomes more likely from repeated sunburn, and was seen to rise by 72% among females and 53% among males between the ages of 0-34 years from 1994 to 2011.
