The Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign raised more than $300,000 from backers and they have put down a minimum of $500 to receive YotaPhone 2. Yota alleges its manufacturing partner dropped the ball and wouldn’t be able to deliver the device until significantly after the August time frame promised on Indigogo. They also said that it will also cause problems for their 2016 plan, company furtherer stated that the people who have ordered phone through the Indiegogo will be still waiting for the phone, while other users in other region will be using newer and better YotaPhone as well as the phone will be less expensive.
Because of the cancellation, Indiegogo backers are given the choice of either receiving the global version of the YotaPhone 2 or a refund.
There are two options provided by the company to the backers in the US.

According to an email by Yota, the company will be teaming up with a new manufacturer that will support the scalability it needed to quickly bring the phone to various parts of the world, including North America. We will instead send a reimbursement to you directly. Hopefully, the YotaPhone 3 won’t encounter the same issues that its predecessor did when it launches in North America next year.
