Amazon launches restaurant delivery in Manhattan with more than 350 eateries
Amazon is also adding restaurant delivery in Dallas, Texas, which means that the service is now available in 10 cities in the U.S. Customers place orders through Amazon’s Prime Now express delivery service, which is only available to members of Amazon Prime, and costs $99 a year or $10.99 a month.

Competitor GrubHub, which also offers delivery service in NY, is down 2.5% out of the open. The service runs through its own, dedicated mobile app.
Once an order is placed, Amazon delivery partners deliver the food in 1 hour or less. Amazon Restaurants offers customers transparent pricing, meaning there are no menu markups or hidden service fees, and that delivery on all orders is free for Prime members.
“Amazon Prime members across Manhattan have already experienced the convenience of ultra-fast delivery through Prime Now”, said Gus Lopez, general manager, Amazon Restaurants.
The retailing giant announced Tuesday it is expanding food delivery to Dallas and NY.
“The price customers pay with Amazon Restaurants on Prime Now is the same price they will pay at the restaurant, or their money back”, spokesman Tom Cook said. But Amazon, unlike Seamless, is also providing delivery services as part of the deal. Dallas makes the 10th city for the service, which now operates in Austin, San Diego, Portland, and other cities across the country.

The service is going live throughout Manhattan, from the Financial District all the way up through Harlem, although available restaurants will vary by ZIP code. This move by Amazon is changing all that, opening up the possibilities for delivering nearly anything.
