According to the statement, corruption persists in every region and country around the world, including the U.S.

After calling Nigeria a fantastically corrupt nation, British prime minister, David Cameron held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
Corruption also undermines the ability of countries to finance development.
“The increased amount is clear testimony that we aim (government) at ensuring better public services by control misuse of the funds through corruption”.
The President said, “We commit to work together to enhance company disclosure on the payments to governments for the sale of oil, gas and minerals, complementing ongoing work within the EITI”.
In an interview with Christian Today, a spokeswoman for Christian Aid said the “UK is enabling corruption around the world” and called on the Prime Minister to “focus on what he can actually do”.
But just six countries – Britain, Afghanistan, Kenya, France, the Netherlands and Nigeria – agreed to publish registers of beneficial ownership, showing who really owns companies in their territories.
He said foreign companies owned about 100,000 propertyu in England and Wales and that more than 44,000 of these were in London.
Cameron, who has made combating financial wrongdoing one of his flagship policies, said the gathering showed that after years of good intentions, the conference marked the start of “a global movement against corruption”.
Some critics said they doubted that Britain’s new register would make much impact unless overseas tax havens cooperated by also making public the names of those who own companies.
Mr Cameron is under pressure to tackle tax secrecy in Britain’s overseas territories and Crown dependencies with former prime minister Gordon Brown urging the government to follow the example of other European Union states by imposing sanctions against former colonies that continue to act as tax havens for the wealthy.
Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, speaks during a panel discussion at the Anti-Corruption Summit in London, Thursday, May 12, 2016.
Bell says “we need actions, not fine words”.
Downing Street clarified that the plans for a register of foreign companies owning United Kingdom property would include those who already owned property in the United Kingdom as well as those seeking to buy.
That was a key demand of Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari – whose country was among those Mr Cameron was embarrassingly caught on camera calling “fantastically corrupt” before the summit. “Crucially, there are country-by-country commitments…to tackle the issues of corruption that people will be able to check up on and report back on”, he said.
During the opening speech of the summit yesterday, Cameron compared corruption to “cancer” and said that it had been a “taboo subject at an global level” for a long time.
These included the Cayman Islands, the Isle of Man and the UAE.

The release of the “Panama Papers”, leaked documents from law firm Mossack Fonseca, put tax avoidance at the top of the global agenda by showing the extent to which tax havens were used by politicians and businesspeople from around the world.
