The Panama Papers, a trove of documents leaked from the Panamanian law firm, had revealed some 214,000 offshore companies of some of the world’s rich and powerful including three children of Nawaz and other members of the Sharif family.

Sharif was supposed to answer seven questions raised by the joint opposition parties, which sought clarification on the transfer of money into his two sons and daughter’s offshore companies.

However, his offer was rejected by opposition parties which staged a walk out after Sharif’s address.

The government lawmakers present welcomed the prime minister when he arrived to deliver his speech on the Panama leaks.

Opposition leader Syed Khurshid Shah rejected all the clarification presented by Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf his and his family’s business history, TheNewsTribe.com Reported.

Other opposition leaders including Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan explained their viewpoint later.

This is a great moment for democracy and it will further the democratic culture in the country if prime minister responds to the questions of the opposition in the assembly, ” he said. Showing some documents to media, Imran claimed “the first flat was bought in 1993, the second and third were bought in 1995, the fourth was bought in 1996 and fifth in 2004”.

More important than this was that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came fully prepared and made a convincing case in his defence.

The details were released by the National Assembly Secretariat today, following the premier’s submission of his personal and business tax details yesterday to the speaker of the house.
