Clinton ‘Unofficial Winner’ Of Kentucky Vote
Regardless of the margin, Clinton’s win in Kentucky is a welcome development for a campaign that is fighting a two-front war against Sanders and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. Thanks to everyone who turned out. “This is a test of leadership as we all know, and I’m hopeful and very confident Sen”. But the secretary of state’s office says more than 1 million votes may be cast in this primary. She’s been working hard to secure a win in Kentucky, campaigning there on Monday alongside Alison Lundergan Grimes, a former Senate candidate and the current Kentucky secretary of state. While they say they don’t condone the behavior of some of their supporters at the Nevada convention, they blame leaders of the Nevada Democratic Party for shutting out Sanders’ backers, prompting the chaos. A total of 2,383 delegates are needed to clinch the Democratic nomination. There were tense confrontations between Sanders delegates and Nevada officials, and the state party chairwoman has said she since has received threats from Sanders supporters.

In a sign of the tensions between the two sides, Sanders issued a defiant statement on Tuesday dismissing complaints from Nevada Democrats as “nonsense” and said his supporters were not being treated with “fairness and respect”.
The billionaire businessman started the day by picking up nine delegates in Guam, and was fewer than 100 delegates shy of clinching the Republican nomination for president headed into the OR vote.
There are 55 delegates at stake in Kentucky and 61 in Oregon. They contended that the party leadership rigged the results of the convention, which locked in seven more delegates who pledged to support Hillary Clinton, compared with the five Sanders gained. She did well in neighboring counties in IN, though Kentucky could have a voter base similar to West Virginia, one of Sanders’ best states in recent voting. Her husband was the last Democrat to carry it in a general election, in 1992 and 1996, and she beat then-Illinois Sen. “I’ll tell you this: I’m not going to give up on Kentucky in November”.
That was before Clinton, during a town hall meeting in Columbus, Ohio, said that she was “going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business”, while trying to explain her plan to sink some $30 billion into Appalachia to rebuild the economy.
Clinton even outspent Sanders on television advertising in Kentucky, dropping $178,000 compared with Sanders’ $107,000, according to data from SMG Delta, which tracks campaign spending.
“They’ve attacked the place where I’m employed, it’s a restaurant and gaming bar, they’ve posted on their Yelp bad things about the restaurant”.
Trump faces criticism from within his own party, as several prominent Republicans have said they wont support him in the general election. Hillary Clinton did not meet the required 15% threshold. “She’s got a little broader base and more experience, especially with foreign policy”. His firm, DHM Research, showed last week that Hillary Clinton is actually ahead 48 percent to 33 percent in Oregon.
“Benghazi and the emails?” Pat Spearman, a Clinton supporter who said she saw an elderly woman hit with a bottle amid the ruckus.
Sanders was favoured in OR, which is among the nation’s most progressive states and the home to one of the senator’s largest rallies of his campaign past year in Portland. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., in April.
Following ballot box tampering in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and dramatic disruptions at a Democratic Party convention in Nevada over the weekend, Senator Bernie Sanders is looking for some big, positive coverage that can only come from winning a primary. And Clinton and Sanders were still battling for every delegate in a Democratic contest that seemed to get testier by the day.
Sanders campaigned Monday and Tuesday in Puerto Rico, which holds its contest on June 5, and was holding a rally in the Los Angeles area late Tuesday.

Accusations that male Sanders supporters are “mysogynist” online bullies aside, this election season’s most overt acts of civil disobedience have revolved around events involving Trump, where leftists have clashed with the Republican candidate’s loyalists.
