YouTube Red launches in Australia
With YouTube’s very big library of music, this should provide all kinds of interesting niche stuff you otherwise you wouldn’t find on other streaming services.

Google has flicked the switch on the Australian version of “YouTube Red”, the twelve bucks a month version of the service that features no ads and allows online viewing.
Google has quietly expanded the reach of its YouTube Red subscription service beyond the US for the first time.
Meanwhile, following the success of YouTube Gaming, the YouTube Music App is also being launched in the country and though Google (who own YouTube) have their own music service in Google Play Music, users who are subscribed to at least one of the services will have access to the other. The music component of the app will bring together the large official music catalogue that it housed on the service, as well as remixes, alternate recordings, covers and tributes.
Google has doubled down on the Aussie Youtube releases today.
ZO crunched the numbers and found that 50% of people aged between 18-54 found the offering very or somewhat appealing.
Sick of ads all over your YouTube videos?
The official full pricing for YouTube Red in Australia will be $11.99 per month.

If you’re already a Google Play Music subscriber, the launch of YouTube Red is especially good news, because while the two could be seen to be competitive, what with the plethora of music content on YouTube already, Google instead treats them as complimentary products.
