Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said in a subsequent news conference that there will be an independent review of the University of Cincinnati police department.

And thus, murder charges merely to quiet a potential protest.
Tensing was released on Thursday evening (July 30) after his arraignment.
Tensing tells them, “You guys wanted a supervisor?” and Pace said, “It don’t matter”. “This is, in the vernacular, a pretty chicken crap stop”. Deter says.
Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Megan Shanahan set Tensing’s bond at $1 million.
Some of the people in the courtroom applauded and shouted, drawing a rebuke from the judge. “You will conduct yourself at all times appropriately”. Defense attorney Stew Matthews will represent Tensing. Tensing, meanwhile, has bonded out of jail and is looking to get his job back. The family urged calm in the community, reported by Cranley spokesman Kevin Osborne. Tensing had stopped DuBose for a missing front licence plate, which is required in Ohio but not in neighbouring states.
Three of these officers were charged for shooting people during or after traffic stops, which can be tense encounters for police and drivers alike. Tensing is white and DuBose is black. Authorities so far have not focused on race in DuBose’s death.
President Santa Ono was among those pushing for the public release of the body camera footage showing officer Ray Tensing shoot and kill an unarmed motorist during a traffic stop.
The former University of Cincinnati police officer charged in the shooting death of an unarmed black man is out of jail on bond.
Deters said Kidd and Lindenschmidt later gave in-depth interviews with the Cincinnati police, at which point they said they had not seen Tensing being dragged. Deters also said Tensing failed to issue simple, nonviolent commands.
“I think that if there had not been a body camera, that Sam would have been left with the memory of everyone saying he was basically trying to kill a police officer“, she said.
Fehr says in order for Tensing to be fired the University must show just cause and grant a pre-disciplinary hearing.
Tensing, 25, said little as he stood before the court in handcuffs and prison stripes. He has a UC degree in criminal justice. On Thursday Tensing plead not guilty to charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter.
Tensing, facing murder charges for killing DuBose, said in a police report that he fired his weapon only after DuBose’s auto began dragging him down the street. The second video, from the body camera of an arriving officer, shows Tensing lying in the road before he gets up to run toward DuBose’s crashed auto.
Fehr says, in this case, the union is not seeking a settlement.
43-year-old Samuel DuBose, shot and killed by Ray Tensing. Again Samuel Dubose reaches, this time for a bottle labeled Gin.
DuBose’s family had called for charges against the officers.

Another of Sam DuBose’s sisters, Terina DuBose Allen, said the presence of body cameras helped bring the story to light. He said his client is already facing death threats. Like my mom said, let God fight the battle.
