Windows 10 already on 14 million computers
The company is still attempting to update all computers to Windows 10 in the following days.

Windows 8 was supposed to be a fresh new start for the Microsoft operating system, one that created a bold touch-friendly interface for mobile devices.
Fortunately for the software giant, reviews and consumer reports have been largely positive, with praise being heaped on the much more streamlined implementation of the Windows 8 tabs features, with the more traditional desktop experience. (No, there is no Windows 9).
But the reign of 8 is over and Windows 10 is here, released for free as a downloadable upgrade.
If you are still running Windows XP at home (or inside your organisation) then there’s no free upgrade to Windows 10 available to you. For business customers, Windows 10 is available to start deploying within work environments, and starting August 1, organizations that have volume licensing can upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Education.
With Windows 10, Microsoft is offering something of a throwback to the earlier versions.
Windows 10 brings back Tiles for instant updating of what you care about most. However, while the PC version of the operating system has been well received, market analysts have questioned its ability to compete with Android and iOS on smartphones.
C|Net is reporting that Windows 10 is now running on more than 14 million machines.
After the Internet Explorer went down the drain, thanks to Firefox, and Google Chrome, having taken over, it was high time for Microsoft to introduce a new browser.
Microsoft said that users who reserved a Windows 10 upgrade will be notified via a PC alert that their machine is ready and that the update has been downloaded.
