Che Calhoun, 31, is charged with the murder of Josue Flores. He won’t comment on how federal marshals located Calhoun, who’s been turned over to Houston police.
The boy’s sister said he was walking home with just a backpack and didn’t have a laptop or cell phone on him.
Josue Flores’ 16-year-old sister, Sofia Flores, says, “He wanted to be a doctor, he wanted to help people”.
Another sister, Guadalupe Flores, said the family was sad and confused.
Che Lajuan Calhoun is shown in this undated photo provided by the Houston Police Department.
Police said the suspect was walking down Fulton near James Street when he stabbed Flores several times for unknown reasons. “The only electronics he ever had was provided by the school”, said Josue’s brother-in-law, Isidro Barrerra.
An 11-year-old boy was fatally attacked Tuesday on his way home from school, and police are working to find out who could have committed the horrifying crime – and why.
Police provided no information Wednesday on a possible motive or relationship between Josue and Calhoun. Flores then collapsed and the man ran away. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died.

According to witnesses, the sixth grader was walking down the street when a man walking in the opposite direction suddenly crossed the street and repeatedly stabbed him. Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Ehling saw several extra patrol cars in the area this morning and one of the sergeants told him they are tracking down tips.
