The two are set to meet Thursday in Washington, after Ryan told CNN last week he was “just not ready” to throw support behind Trump, after rivals Texas Sen.
As the chairman of the GOP National Convention, Ryan had previously said that he would work with any GOP presidential candidate, and he would support his party’s nominee.
Ryan and Trump are scheduled to meet Thursday, May 12th. “I will give you a very solid answer, if that happens, about one minute after that happens”.
“Let me say this, the man deserves a ton of credit for an fantastic achievement, which is to bring millions of people into this party and to have a very impressive victory”, the newspaper quoted Ryan as saying. “And I’d like to have his support, but if he doesn’t want to support me that’s fine”. “We just didn’t”, he said.
Who made Ryan keeper of the keys of true Republicanism? Lindsey Graham, the SC senator who said Friday he would never vote for Trump, as “this lightweight”. Mitt Romney, he said, was “ungrateful” for the help Trump gave him in the 2012 election.
“While we were honest about our few differences, we recognize there are many important areas of common ground”, the statement from Trump and Ryan reads.
Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton said that since Donald Trump became the Republicans’ presumptive nominee, she has been hearing from Republicans interested in supporting her presidential campaign. He says Trump “thinks ‘I can do it on my own, ‘ but he’s wrong”.
“Whether he will have a formal role at the convention is not something that’s been decided or that he has fully considered”, Schnittger said. Wow – Ryan is history just because Sarah Palin comes after him?
Through a spokesman, Ryan declined to respond to the threats.
In many ways, it looks like Ryan is searching for a way out of this mess.
Trump earlier Monday distanced himself from Palin’s comments from over the weekend, saying that Palin is a “free agent”. You know, there are Conservative parties.
