Microsoft had released the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book in October 2015.
However, rumors also suggest that Microsoft may announce the Surface Pro 5 as early as June this year. It is speculated to support 4K resolution. Reportedly, Microsoft is waiting for the next-gen Intel processors to undergo mass production since the new Kaby Lake processors will power the new Surface Pro. It is expected to carry improved graphics and deliver longer battery life that will help in improving overall performance of the device.
With regard the specifications, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is set to run the higher generation Kaby Lake processor, which is set to be revealed by Intel at the forthcoming Computer event on May 31 in Taipei, Tech Times has learned. As for the specifics and features, Yibada claimed that the Surface Book 2 might have a newly-innovated touch sensitive keyboard. Speculations indicate that the Surface Pro 5 will be featuring a fingerprint reader on the device itself.
As for the Surface Pro 4, the offer is available on the following models: Core i7 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD, Core i7 with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD, and Core i7 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. The Surface Pen is expected to arrive with a larger battery that may last for up to 7 hours compared to 5-6 hours battery backup of Surface Pro 4.

One other candidate for an upgrade is the USB port. The Surface Pro 5 could be the first in the range to get a USB-C port rather than the USB 3.0 port on the Pro 4.
