On Thursday, the club announced that it has signed Central Missouri running back LaVance Taylor to get back to the offseason roster max of 90.

An underdog story with a strong local twist has unfolded at Chiefs camp.
Taylor added 427 yards receiving and two touchdowns on 38 catches and 273 kickoff yards, averaging 218.17 yards per game to lead Division-II football in 2014.
On Thursday, just one day after tweeting his reel, Taylor put pen to paper and snatched the open roster spot with the Chiefs.
From his account, @LaVance_TCT came this request: “hey my name is LaVance Taylor and I am now a free agent and I wanted you to check me out”. He also included a 12-minute video showcasing his skills.
Taylor credited his father, LaVoid, with the idea of reaching out into cyberspace.
“Actually, I was about to take a nap”.
“This is what I was trying to do, this remained my ultimate goal, so I guess everything happens for a reason”, said Taylor to reporters on Friday. “I was here in about an hour”.
Fortunately for Taylor, the Chiefs were in need of a running back after Cyrus Gray was released and Keshawn Hill suffered a hamstring injury.

Five running backs ― Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis, Anthony Sherman, Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West ― are among those who are expected to report Friday, so depth at the position should not be an issue for the team’s first full-squad practice on Saturday. Either way, it’s a nice public relations move by Kansas City.
