United’s kit this season is their first with a manufacturer other than Nike, who had handled their kits for 13 seasons before this.
The Reds will don the new home kit for the first time in next week’s Premier League opener against Tottenham at Old Trafford. Drawing upon inspiration of United’s rich history with the Adidas, the kit whilst focusing the iconic red, also features details from their 1980′s kits.
The new home kit features a classic v-neck collar and three-stripe design down the shoulder, with inspiration taken from the strip the club wore in 1990.
Among those Manchester United fans will be eager to see in the new strip will be summer arrivals Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Matteo Darmian.
Manchester United have officially begun their 10 year partnership with sport giants adidas as their home kit for the new season was launched at midnight.
The shirts are part of the “Break Expectations” campaign by Adidas as Manchester United tries to return to the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United Group managing director Richard Arnold added: “Everyone at United is very proud of the shirt’s classic design, which draws upon the Club’s iconic kits of yesteryear”.
