Sanders refuses to quit as Democratic Party rift grows
If Clinton wins the nomination, for every six Democrats who support Sanders, one will switch their allegiance to Trump in the general election and two say they would not support either candidate.

In an interview with CNN, the Democratic front-runner questioned Mr Trump’s ability to handle complex foreign policy challenges, decrying what she described as his “irresponsible, reckless, risky comments”.
Her reasons included Mr Trump’s plan to bar Muslims from travelling to the United States, his call to step back from North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and his negative comments about the UK government, which she called America’s “closest ally”.
Overall, 83 percent of Democrats polled said they support Clinton while 82 percent of Republicans said they are backing Trump.
“I resent very much for any Democratic leader to suggest in any way that the Sanders campaign and millions of our supporters push violence”, Sanders said. “That’s already done, in effect”.
“I will be the nominee for my party, Chris”.
Although Clinton has a significant lead in delegates and is expected to clinch the nomination before the party’s convention this summer, Sanders has declined to drop out of the race.
The contentious race between Clinton and Sanders is similar to the primary election back in 2008, and Democrats came together to achieve a large win that November, said Elk County Democratic Committee Chairman Rich Schweikart.
Trump later in the afternoon shot back in a statement, saying, “The fact that Hillary thinks the temporary Muslim ban, which she calls the “Muslim ban”, promotes terrorism, proves Bernie Sanders was correct when he said she is not qualified to be President”.
“I know how hard this job is, and I know that we need steadiness as well as strength and smarts in it”, she added. “But Sen. Sanders has to do his part”. Bernie Sanders’ supporters, and his lackluster condemnation of their actions, make us glad that he has minuscule chances of getting his party’s nomination.
Donald Trump holds a slight lead over Hillary Clinton – 45% to 42% – among registered voters, according to a new national Fox News poll.
Clinton, a former USA secretary of state, said she would resolutely refuse to respond to Trump’s goading.
The Clinton campaign declined to comment and the Sanders campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But in the man vote, Trump pounced on Clinton by over 22 points.
On Wednesday, Lange said she wanted Sanders to acknowledge the threats, and apologize.
“The issues that he’s raised – student loan debt, bank governance – those positions are going to prevail whether he wins or not”, Jackson said.

Democratic Party leaders said it’s time to unite. Dianne Feinstein of California, want Sanders to step aside after the votes are done in mid-June, given that he very likely will be trailing Clinton in pledged and superdelegates at that time. So, take your choice and Clinton has the edge, and that edge was never closer than her victory Tuesday in the Kentucky primary.
