With so much buzz surrounding this transfer, it seems highly likely that it will go through, but Arsenal fans must still wait for official announcements.

Former Norway worldwide Jan Aage Fjortoft has taken a swipe at Arsenal’s transfer policy after the Gunners offered just €25m for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

Very recently, the German club M’ Gladbach announced that they have received a bid for Xhaka, but didn’t reveal the name from whom.

The Granit Xhaka-to-Arsenal steam engine had been moving along quite well and quickly down the tracks the past few weeks, with an agreement seemingly all but assured by most observers.

“There has been a specific offer for the Swiss midfielder [Xhaka]”.

Xhaka has been touted as Arsenal’s number one transfer target this summer as they look to add competition for Francis Coquelin in midfield and replace Mikel Arteta.

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Alvaro Morata, with Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and both Manchester clubs interested in the forward.

The Swiss star has said he wants to move the Premier League but for now he is a Monchengladbach player.

Arsenal are reportedly keen on the midfielder but, according to Bild, their starting offer for the 23-year-old is far below the asking price required.

“We really don’t have to talk about the expense proposed in the offer”.
