Ginola’s witty Tweet referenced his attempt to replace Sepp Blatter as Federation Internationale de Football Association boss previous year, with the decision to award Qatar the 2022 World Cup central to the Frenchman’s ultimately rescinded candidacy.
“He is in a stationary state”.
It is believed Ginola was taking part in a golf competition at the Mapauto Golf Cup. He is in a coma.
Initial reports emerged that Ginola has suffered a cardiac arrest. “He fell in front of us”, he said. At no moment was David Ginola in a good state. This is absolutely not the case. “And so nobody can know anything”.
The 49-year-old’s condition was reported as “unconscious but stable”. Get well soon David!
A cult figure at English clubs Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur because of his flamboyant skill, Ginola also played for Paris St-Germain, Aston Villa and Everton before retiring in 2002.
Ginola was capped 17 times by France and in 1999 he was named PFA Players’ Player of the Year.
