Heavy rain set to return

Low pressure pulls well away from the area further along in the evening, so shower chances greatly diminish late Saturday night and we should be dry in the early morning hours of Sunday.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Stray Shower (10-20%).

Storms could be more of a problem for the second round of the Regions Tradition Champions Tour golf tournament in suburban Birmingham. Heavy rains and hail are possible across central Alabama. The showers and storms should dissolve by Saturday. High: Upper 60s to low 70s.

An area of low pressure will slide south of New England Saturday night then stall in the Gulf of ME on Sunday.

Widespread rainfall amounts – totaling more than an inch – are likely once the heaviest rain is over with by midday Saturday. Winds remain out of the southeast at around 5 miles per hour. However, fog will lift by mid-morning giving way to mostly sunny skies.

It will be sunny Monday and Tuesday with highs in the mid-70s both days.
