Hiddink on Chelsea’s next season

Now at the age of 35, Terry can still command enormous wages from the CSL clubs, as he is still a regular starter for Chelsea in the Premier League.

According to the Telegraph, Terry has cancelled his “farewell match” at Stamford Bridge today – mere days after being offered a new one-year deal to return to Chelsea for the 2016-17 season.

The 35-year-old’s decision is made even more hard by the presence of lucrative interest from clubs in China and the Middle East, though sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that no MLS clubs have indicated a willingness to offer Terry a designated player contract.

Terry, whose current contract expires on June 30, said in January he would be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season.

“I’ve said for a long time I want to finish my career here”. Listen, I want to stay.

John Terry could lose out on a whopping £17 million if he decides to stay at Chelsea instead of taking the lucrative deal from Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning. “You’ve been a big part of the best moments of my life inside this stadium”.

Meanwhile, John Terry spoke of his desire to stay at Chelsea after the final whistle, but did not declare whether or not he will be staying next season.

The club captain is now considering an offer of a one-year extension, though he has disclosed it would see him operate in a “different role”. What loyalty should I show to this football club if they are going to keep me dangling and not show any great respect?’

Terry’s new contract will take him into his 22nd season with Chelsea and he has expressed his delight at finally putting the speculation surrounding his future to bed. It’s good when both parties start to talk.

“Personally, I hope they will manage to come to a solution”. That is my personal opinion.

“We have to realise what has happened and then look back on our season”. “He can contribute a lot wherever he likes to play”.

“Asked what the Russian owner had said to him, Ranieri smiled: “‘Welcome to the champions!’ Very warm”. I believed in him when he was young.

“It was a typical end of the season game where there was nothing at stake”, Hiddink is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. “Every time you want to speak about tears!”

So, surely, the Italian could have been forgiven for feeling just a smidgeon of satisfaction that he was now back at the Bridge in charge of the fairytale outsiders Leicester, who had, quite astoundingly, taken Chelsea’s title.

Fabregas had earlier given his team the lead from the penalty spot after Nemanja Matic had been fouled in the area by Leicester substitute Jeffrey Schlupp.

Roman Abramovich congratulated Claudio Ranieri on Leicester’s Premier League title success, but the reality is still sinking in for the Foxes boss. “That was one key for us, one of our strengths”. No-one has played Champions League (before).
