An arrest warrant was issued for Collignon because there was concern that Birnbaum was not receiving the medical attention she needed.

Court documents showed Birnbaum’s brother in NY told Newton Police she is worth $2.5 million and he has concerns Collignon appeared after the stroke to cash in. When Collignon dropped her off at the hospital Thursday, Birnbaum was admitted for treatment.

Birnbaum, who recently suffered a stroke, went missing from Care One Health Care Facility in Newton Tuesday afternoon and was found at Mass. Collignon allegedly left Florida to be Collignon when she had her stroke.

Collignon’s brother said in court that David Collignon took Beth directly to Florida Tuesday, but brought her back when police threatened to charge him with kidnapping.

Chinman, however, said, “There’s multiple sources indicating that this is a competent woman whose views are deserving of respect”.

He said David Collignon had driven Birnbaum to Florida, but turned around and drove back to MA after speaking with Newton police.

Collignan is expected to be arraigned at Newton District Court.

After hearing from both sides Friday, the judge allowed Collignon to be released on his own recognizance, but ordered him to stay away from Birnbaum.
